Antibiotics for Cough

Prolonged dry cough can be caused by a secondary bacterial infection that develops against the background of ARVI. As a rule, this cough turns into bronchitis and requires medical treatment.

The treatment lasts 5–7 days, depending on the severity of the cough and the general state of the patient.

The advantage of Augmentin for cough is the low likelihood of side effects and the possibility of use for children.

Zithromax for cough

Zithromax dosage is 500 mg per day. The drug is taken only 3 days. After that, the treatment is stopped. You should not take Zithromax for a longer period of time.

Zithromax for children is recommended only for specific indications. Usually, it is prescribed to patients over 7 years of age.

Side effects of Zithromax are also very rare, so it is a first-line drug for cough.

Doxycycline for cough

Doxycycline dosage is 200 mg per day in a single dose. Treatment lasts 7–10 days, depending on the severity of the disease. The medicine is prescribed only to patients over 8 years of age.

Doxycycline has side effects, but they are mild. And although Doxycycline is less commonly used than Augmentin and Zithromax for cough, it is a fairly strong pharmacological agent for respiratory diseases.
